EPA Regional/State/Local Modelers Workshop

April 30-May 4, 2012, Chicago, IL

The 2012 Regional/State/Local Modelers' Workshop is being held in Chicago, Illinois on April 30 through May 4, 2012. This annual Workshop provides the federal, state, and local government levels of the modeling community with the opportunity to present, interact, and communicate various technical issues and solutions related to regulatory air quality modeling.

This year's Workshop will have two distinct sessions with a focus of dispersion / permit modeling on Monday and Tuesday and of photochemical / SIP modeling on Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will be a transitional day that will have presentations and discussion on cross-cutting issues that span both the dispersion and photochemical modeling communities. There will also be a summary of the 10th Conference on Air Quality Models that will be presented on Wednesday morning.

The 2012 Regional/State/Local Modelers' Workshop is open only to EPA personnel, other Federal partner agency modelers, and State/local/tribal agency modelers. There will not be a separate day for an open technical session with industrial and private sector modelers as occurred in 2011.

Workshop on Satellite and Above-Boundary Layer Observations for Air Quality Management

January 10-11, 2012, Baltimore, MD

The second workshop is being held January 10-11, 2012, in Baltimore, Maryland.  The second workshop will build upon the dialogue begun at the first workshop in May 2011 and will focus on the currently available satellite products and their applicability to air quality management tasks. The workshop is being held in conjunction with the 2nd Annual NOAA GOES-R Air Quality Proving Ground (AQPG) Workshop.

EPA Region II Workshop: Innovative Energy Management for Water and Wastewater Utilities

September 20, 2011, St. Croix, VI
September 21, 2011, St. Thomas, VI

This energy management workshop will demonstrate how to reduce energy use and increase savings for water and wastewater treatment plants. It will provide: interactive instruction on reducing energy use by using energy management approaches; opportunities to learn from experienced utility representatives on energy performance improvements and associated cost savings; and help to identify follow-up opportunities for EPA to further assist utilities.

2011 Environmental Justice Conference: One Community - One Environment

This conference is for community-based organizations, indigenous organizations, community members, advocates, city/county/state governments, colleges/universities, faith-based organizations, businesses and other stakeholders interested in learning about opportunities to work towards environmental justice in their communities.
