The event is co-sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the State and Territorial Air Pollution Program Administrators and the Association of Local Air Pollution Control Officials.

Air Innovations Conference 2005:
Integrated and Innovative Approaches for Improving Air Quality
Chicago, IL August 24-26, 2005
The 2004 Air Innovations conference was a big success, and provided Federal, State, local and tribal air professionals and others with up-to-date information on new and innovative approaches and technologies to help achieve clean air goals. Growing out of the 2003 SIP Innovations Conference in Washington, D.C., it expanded the forum to cover even more sources and issues.

The interagency, International Symposium on Cyanobacterial Harmful Algal Blooms ( ISOC-HAB ), was held at the Sheraton Imperial in Research Triangle Park, NC,USA, on September 6-10, 2005. ISOC-HAB was co-sponsored by the US EPA, NOAA, FDA, USGS, US ACE, NIH, NIEHS, CDC, USDA, and the UNC-CH IMS.

Community Action for a Renewed Environment (CARE)

Community Action for a Renewed Environment or CARE is a new initiative designed to establish a series of multi-media, community-based and community-driven projects to reduce toxic pollution. In the spring of 2005 EPA solicited proposals from two types of competivite grants from tribal and local governments and various local organizations, including non-profits, citizens, businesses, schools and community organizations to create collaborative partnerships to address toxics in their local enivronment.
