3rd Particulate Matter/Regional Haze/Ozone Modeling Workshop

May 18th-20th, 2005

Purpose

To update State and Local modelers on the latest information regarding regulatory efforts to implement the 8-hour ozone and PM2.5 standards through presentations of Agency guidance, discussion of modeling experiences, issue identification/recommendations, and discussion of ideas for collaborating and sharing resources to support the development of State Implementation Plans.

Participants

Program managers and technical staff (modeling, monitoring, emissions, and meteorological professionsls) from State/Local/Tribal agencies, the Environmental Protection Agency, and Federal Land Managers (DOI,DOA).

Topics

  • Regulatory issues and schedules - overview of 8-hour ozone and PM2.5 implementation rules.
  • Final ozone modeling guidance and draft particulate matter/regional haze modeling guidance.
  • Relevant experiences, issues, and insights of modelers.
  • Coordination and management issues, such as coordination with EPA activities and regional planning organizations.
