The 2012 Regional/State/Local Modelers' Workshop is being held in Chicago, Illinois on April 30 through May 4, 2012. This annual Workshop provides the federal, state, and local government levels of the modeling community with the opportunity to present, interact, and communicate various technical issues and solutions related to regulatory air quality modeling.
This year's Workshop will have two distinct sessions with a focus of dispersion / permit modeling on Monday and Tuesday and of photochemical / SIP modeling on Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will be a transitional day that will have presentations and discussion on cross-cutting issues that span both the dispersion and photochemical modeling communities. There will also be a summary of the 10th Conference on Air Quality Models that will be presented on Wednesday morning.
The 2012 Regional/State/Local Modelers' Workshop is open only to EPA personnel, other Federal partner agency modelers, and State/local/tribal agency modelers. There will not be a separate day for an open technical session with industrial and private sector modelers as occurred in 2011. We hope to incorporate another open technical session at next year's Workshop.
