11th Conference on Air Quality Modeling

August 12-13 2015, Research Triangle Park, NC

The EPA is announcing the 11th Conference on Air Quality Modeling and invites the public to participate in the conference. The conference will focus on the proposed revisions to the Guideline on Air Quality Models (CFR Title 40, Part 51, Appendix W) and will serve as the public hearing for these proposed revisions.

The 11th Conference on Air Quality Modeling, mandated by Section 320 of the Clean Air Act, is scheduled for August 12th through 13th, 2015 in the EPA Auditorium, Room C111 of the EPA RTP Campus at 109 T. W. Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The conference will start each morning at 8:30 am and conclude each afternoon at 5:00 pm. On August 12, 2015, the first half of the conference will consist of a structured agenda with presentations. The second half of the day through August 13, 2015, is reserved for the public hearing on this proposed rule.

EPA will accept comments on the proposal for 90 days after publication in the Federal Register. All supporting documentation and proposed model code are available through the Docket (ID No. EPA-HQ-OAR-2015-0310) and through the 11th Conference on Air Quality Modeling informational website. Additionally, information on how to submit advance requests for reserved time to speak during the public hearing are posted on this informational website. Please direct all questions to Mr. George M. Bridgers, email: Bridgers.George@epa.gov.

Registration for the Conference, while not required, is strongly recommended due to heightened security protocols at the EPA-RTP facility. Registration information will also be posted on this website once the proposed rulemaking package is signed and published. Please reference the REAL ID information below for important information about limitations with use of driver's licenses as forms of identification from select states/territories.

REAL ID Act: Because this hearing is being held at a U.S. government facility, individuals planning to attend the hearing should be prepared to show valid picture identification to the security staff in order to gain access to the meeting room. Please note that the REAL ID Act, passed by Congress in 2005, established new requirements for entering federal facilities. These requirements took effect July 21, 2014. If your driver’s license is issued by American Samoa, Arizona, Louisiana, Minnesota, or New York, you must present an additional form of identification to enter the federal buildings where the public hearings will be held. You are encouraged to check the following Department of Homeland Security website for the latest list of noncompliant states/territories, http://www.dhs.gov/real-id-enforcement-brief. Acceptable alternative forms of identification include: federal employee badges, passports, enhanced driver’s licenses and military identification cards. We will list any additional acceptable forms of identification on this website once the preregistration information is posted. In addition, you will need to obtain a property pass for any personal belongings you bring with you. Upon leaving the building, you will be required to return this property pass to the security desk. No large signs will be allowed in the building, cameras may only be used outside of the building and demonstrations will not be allowed on federal property for security reasons
